Week 31

Week: 31

Total weight gain/loss: 18 pounds and still counting...

Sleep: Slept pretty good this week, but I know it is from being completely exhausted from the first days of school!

Best moment this week: Feeling like I know what I'm doing as a teacher now. (Well, sometimes...) But, the first week went by very smoothly for me. They always say you're 3rd year is your best! We will see about that... maybe being gone half of the year with a sweet little baby will help qualify it for "the best"!

Something funny at school ... the kids were doing their morning work and one boy made a loud shiver sound and said, "I can't wait 'til you have that baby! Then, maybe we won't be so cold in here!"

Movement: Lots of movement.... sometimes it is so uncomfortable because it is a tight turning feeling. I can literally feel my bladder getting banged on as I walk sometimes and that is just plain annoying!

Food cravings: Orange Cream Sodas and lots of sweets!

Anything make you queasy or sick? I am guessing the day before school starting last week was just some sort of "bug" I caught. I haven't had any more episodes like that this week and made it through the first week very well!

Have you started to show yet?: Yes, but everyone keeps saying that I don't look like I'm "very pregnant" yet. What does that mean?! I disagree...

Leakage: Yes, yes, yes

Labor signs: Don't think so...

Belly button In or Out: Still in! My skin feel so tight on my belly now, I'm scared it's just going to go POP!

Wedding ring On or Off: It has stayed on, until yesterday... I actually got it on, but it hurt to bend my finger! So, I yanked it off and then was informed I better just quit wearing it now so it doesn't get cut off. Mark would cut me if that happened!

Happy or Moody most of the time: No more moody than "normal", lol. Mark and I have been both very proud about how I handled this week going back to school and stuff. He told people I "shine like diamond in sky" this week! (his nail salon voice) lol

Milestones: WE have now started the two week check-ups. We go back this Thursday and we WILL have an official date set for a c-section. We have made the decision early on now to have a c-section and it was a long discussion with our doctor about it. We all just feel it is what is best (mainly for me), given my condition during the pregnancy with too much pressure on my uterus and all of the swelling. Basically, it will help prevent only being able to have one child, because yes, that has been a worry of our doctor's with how much pressure has been put on me down there. This decision is totally fine with me. I'm a planner. I love things planned and do not like to be caught off guard. If it were to happen to me like it does in the movies, (water breaks and people go running around like chickens with their heads cut off) I would freak out!

Weekly Baby Purchase: Not sure if this is really a fun baby purchase, but I ordered some Dropps Laundry detergent. I got some regular kind for our clothes and some of the baby kind for his clothes. I haven't tried them yet, but they look like fun!

Week 30

Week: 30

Total weight gain/loss: 18 lbs. from the beginning

Sleep: not going very well. I think I have been stressed out and having anxiety about going back to school and trying to get everything done on time. I have trouble just getting myself out of bed (literally) and have to roll and end up hurting my arms from straining too much to lift myself up. It's also become quite a task to just roll over from one side to another. I feel so heavy and can't take it anymore.

Best moment this week: getting to see the little munchkin in 4D at our ultrasound visit. They were also able to give me a CD of the old pictures I ruined by laminating them, so I was happy about that. It's amazing how much he has already grown since the last time we saw pictures! His little face is getting chubby

Movement: He has actually been moving so much at times it makes me feel sick to my stomach. He still wakes me up in the middle of the night dancing around, too.

Food cravings: Orange Cream Soda, Sunny D, cheesecake

Anything make you queasy or sick? I wasn't even going to post today about this week, because I am feeling so sick, but since I am waiting on Mark to get home to go help me do some stuff to get ready for the first day of school tomorrow, I thought I might as well do something laying here in bed. Saturday I felt really sick and just not myself. I had stomach pains and felt so achy. I kept thinking it was because I had just worn myself out this past week, but wasn't sure. Later that night, I started feeling so sick, I was doubled over by the bed and having a lot of strange stomach pains, bad enough Mark and I started questioning if I was going into labor. I was even having to do some serious breathing to get through some of the pains. I tossed and turned all night long, not sleeping. Then, about 4 o'clock, I woke up and began vomiting and everything else that goes with it all night long. I have been up and down all day with the same problem and I am hoping it will get better, especially before tomorrow. I mean, who has a sub the first day of school?! We usually take my weekly pregnancy pictures on Saturday and then I blog, but I haven't looked or even felt my best, so I figure everyone can settle on the sweet little chubby monkey face pictures from the doctor visit this week! :)

Have you started to show yet?: Always showing, but I have grown so much this past week. I literally feel so heavy and I have to walk around holding my belly up. Mark says it looks like I am growing more and more every minute, and I think I am!! I need to look and see if I can find one of those good support belts to help hold him up since I am so uncomfortable. Support belt and a jock strap, oh my!

Leakage: yea...

Labor signs: Thought so... but I guess it was just a stomach bug

Belly button In or Out: Still in!

Wedding ring On or Off: Still on!

Happy or Moody most of the time: I think I have been somewhat alright, considering the amount of stress I am feeling this week. More emotional, than moody.

Milestones: We are now to the point that we are looking to set a date for a c-section with the doctor. We have thrown around a few dates, but I haven't settled on one yet, but I plan to have my mind made up by our next doctor's appointment and will let everyone know!

Week 29

Week: 29

Total weight gain/loss: We will find out at the doctor on Wednesday. I hate that part of the visit!

Sleep: I have been waking up a lot in the middle of the night feeling like I am STARVING! I may have eaten right before bed and had a normal dinner, but that doesn't matter. It feels like I haven't eaten all week. I usually get up and eat some cereal or crackers, but since it usually happens around 3 or 4 in the morning, I try to wait since I'm so tired. I still have to get up at least 2 or 3 times in the middle of the night to go potty, but now it is even more annoying because I am having to ROLL to my side to get out of bed! I am having a lot of trouble trying to just sit up like normal!!

Best moment this week: I was actually able to paint my own toenails, sort of. It has been driving me crazy that I can't bend over and do little things like I used to. I ended up having to prop my foot up on the toilet and only do about 2 toes at a time, then the weight on my other leg would get so heavy, I would have to take a break. That aside, I DID IT!

Movement: I have been woken up during the night by him moving in my stomach!! Yes, I am actually getting woken up because he is having a party in my tummy! Does this mean that if he likes being awake in the middle of the night now, that he will be awake the same time after I deliver? He is going to be a little party animal/night owl.

Food cravings: McDonald's new fruit smoothies

Anything make you queasy or sick? It seems like something made me gag this week and we had to leave a room, but of course, I can't remember what it was.

Have you started to show yet?: I should probably just delete this question now... I mean, really?!

Leakage: Might as well get rid of this question, too. I am leaking like an old pipe! I know, gross.

Labor signs: Not yet.

Belly button In or Out: STILL IN!

Wedding ring On or Off: STILL ON!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody. Definitely moody this week! Maybe because I have been having to wake up early to go to school workshops, meetings, etc. but I'm mooooooody!

Weekly Wisdom: Not sure if this is considered wisdom, but Hurley has been extremely protective of me starting this week. He has always been pretty protective, but if Mark even looks at me a weird way, or our conversation starts to get somewhat serious, Hurley steps between us and starts growling and barking at Mark! It happens before we even notice how we are talking to each other and then we start laughing because I guess we weren't smiling enough at each other and Hurley doesn't like it, even though everything is fine.

Weekly Baby Purchase: I didn't buy anything for the baby this week, but I just remembered that I ordered some things from Forever 21 Maternity. I was so excited when the news went nuts-o with Forever 21 carrying a maternity line in a negative way, but I was so happy! I love Forever 21! They don't have very many things to buy yet, but I check their website almost every week for something new, because once it goes up, they seem to sell out very quickly. I bought a dress, belly band, lightweight sweater, and this week a sweater for winter time. I am not sure if it will get cold while I am still pregnant, but thought I should have a couple sweaters ready, just in case.

Happy Birthday, Ransom!

Our nephew, Ransom, turned the big 2 today! Last night they had a small family party for him. Mark and I decided to give him his own little fish tank since he is such an outdoorsy little guy! We put in a small female beta fish, with two small african dwarf frogs. The frogs were little cuties! It was a lot of fun seeing his little face light up and when we turned our backs later that night, he had dumped a huge pile of the fish food all over the counter next to it! As he would say, "Uh oh!"

Happy Birthday, Ransom!!

My Mommy Necklace

I received a lot of sweet compliments on the necklace I was wearing today, so I thought I would share where I got it. I liked it because instead of just having your child's name on it, I was able to put Mark's and my initials, as well as the year we were married, along with Dylan's name and a small pearl.

The Nursery (still in progress)

Here are a few pictures of Dylan's room (so far). We still have some things to get done, but it has become our favorite room in the house. It is very calm in there. Hurley and Chiko love it when we open the door and let them lay on the carpet in there and Hurley ALWAYS goes in to give the giraffe a kiss and say 'hello' to him. We have all of the bedding, but still need the crib (...DAD!) and we will be making some chocolate brown tie-backs for the curtains. The built in bookshelves/drawers will be used as the changing table area because it is a good height for me. I actually was taking pictures in the room because I wanted to get pictures of the little white rocking chair. We just had it re-upholstered, as it was Mark's grandmother's old rocking chair. It turned out really cute! We both got upset when we got home and sat down in it and realized that they greased the bottom of the chair and the old annoying noise it made as you rocked was gone! We liked the creaky noise!

If you click on a picture, it will open larger for you to see. Soon enough, we will have more pictures to share!

Week 28

Week: 28

Total weight gain/loss: no idea... I would guess more than when I was at the doctor last, but that's scary to think about

Sleep:I've slept pretty well this week since Mom and Dad were here and we all killed ourselves working so hard on a million house/school projects!

Best moment this week:  Let's change this to the WORST moment this week. When I went up to school to work on my classroom with Mom, I took all of my ultrasound photos with me to have laminated to help preserve them for the baby book. DO NOT DO THIS! Apparently, lamination completely ruins ultrasound photos, but I did not know this and unfortunately, it was too late to do anything about it after they were already on their way through the machine. I actually was surprised at how composed I kept myself while this happened (only because there were other people in the workroom at the time), but when I got back to my classroom and looked at Mom, I started crying.

I was able to save about 4 pictures by running to grab scissors and cutting it off the strip that was stuck in the machine, but the good pictures were already ruined. It was sad. I'm still sad about it.

Movement: The doctor gave me a chart that I am supposed to fill out every day to help record baby movements. I am supposed to see how long it takes to feel 10 complete movements. He has made it easy for me, because he can make at least 10 movements in only 5 or 6 minutes usually.

Food cravings: Just fruit and Sunny D mainly.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Really smelly food is the only thing that really grosses me out right now.

Leakage: I have been leaking for weeks now, but this week, it REALLY took off and I have been covered! Gross.

Labor signs: Not that I know of

Belly button In or Out: Still in! I should throw a party just because it is still an innie! I am dreading it popping out!

Wedding ring On or Off: Still on!

Happy or Moody most of the time: I think I have been more moody this week just from being exhausted.

Weekly Baby Purchase: Believe it or not, I haven't bought anything this week for the baby/pregnancy/nursery. My, oh my!

Week 27

No picture this week! Our camera was broken, but it is fixed now, so look out for Week 28 picture!

Week: 27

Total weight gain/loss: We went to the doctor this week, so I actually know the answer to this one now. I will not frighten anyone by saying the number on the scale because, well, it's frightening. Mark's mouth dropped open. On the upside to this, I have only gained a total of 15 pounds from start to finish. I guess that isn't that bad!

Sleep: I have good nights and bad nights. I've been having strange dreams that keep me tossing and turning on some nights. Other nights, I sleep very well. I planned to get up very early and go to school and work in my classroom today, but when Mark left for work, I was sleeping so good, I let myself sleep in until 11.

Best moment this week: Going to the doctor. I always feel more relaxed after visiting with the doctor. I was actually very anxious about this week's doctor's appointment, though, because it was the infamous "Glucose test" day. I get nervous because I am horrible at taking medicine. I'm just as bad as a child. Until high school, I still had to take Children's chewable Tylenol. I still have trouble taking any pills or medicine, which is why I was extremely nervous about the drink they give you to drink beforehand. Of course, I had been reading online and psyching myself out even more when reading that many people start vomiting the drink up right away. Anyway, the drink was not bad. I could just take the gritty sugar in it and it kind of burnt, like I had heartburn, but it did not taste bad and I was proud of myself.

Not only did the drink have me extremely nervous, having blood taken was also making me upset. Normally, I wouldn't get upset about this, but since the last time we went to have lab tests done, I got some witch that decided I "didn't have any veins" and after sticking me 4 times, decided to use the butterfly I suggested from the very beginning (but, "I don't know what I'm talking about and need to get over it since I am having a baby" is what I was told) she finally got some blood out of me. My arm had bruises and I was in pain for days after it.

OF COURSE, we walk in to have the blood drawn and there she stands. The witch. Her name is Gloria. Mark and I had big eyes at each other and both of us were scared. To our surprise, she was totally Phoebe this day and not Ursula (Friend's joke). She used the butterfly I suggested right away, and still had trouble finding my veins, by was very sweet and kind. I haven't heard back from the doctor about the results yet, which is a good thing! If I do hear back, I have to go in for the 3 hour blood draw and who knows how that lady's mood will be that day!

We did find out that Dylan measured almost 29 weeks, when I am only 27 weeks! He is getting big!
The doctor also made a worried/strange face when I asked about still trying to deliver vaginally. We are guessing that based on her reaction and the way this pregnancy has been going, delivering vaginally might not be a good idea. I guess we will decide more on that the closer we get.

OH! I almost forgot! Mark and I graduated from our Childbirth class this week, too!

Movement: He moves. Not too much, but some.

Food cravings: Sweets, sweets, sweets!

Anything make you queasy or sick? Just gross smells, like opening leftover food in a container, but who doesn't get queasy after that anyway!

Labor signs: I felt a strange feeling the other night and I could only describe it to Mark as though it was a slow turning feeling and my stomach felt very very tight and hard. When I mentioned this to the doctor, she informed me that I was already having the Braxton Hicks Contractions. yippee.

Belly button In or Out: Still in!!

Wedding ring On or Off: Still on!!

Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm pretty much bipolar by now. One minute I am laughing, then crying, then yelling, then smiling. I am sure I am pleasant to be around.

Milestones: I'm just glad this "glucose test" is over I was dreading so much! And, we are now in the THIRD TRIMESTER!

Weekly Wisdom:I don't think I am filled with much wisdom these days, but I did point out to Mark that we only have a few weeks left! It's so strange! I seem to refer to Bethenny's pregnancy (from Bethenny Getting Married?!) because  that's who we have watched go through this at the same time, and it is crazy to think about her delivering her baby 5 weeks early. If that happens to me, we really only have 5 or 6 weeks left, give or take! Wow. Mark needs to get more done around here.

Weekly Baby Purchase:
Pee Wee Herman onesie
(I love Pee Wee Herman and if you know me very well, you know that I have been given the nickname "Herman" from my Dad since I was a little girl because I liked to dance like him!)

Dylan's first personalized Halloween bucket
