growing up

So I decided I need to make a few changes since I am a "mom" and all now. I know, lame. I cut off my hair and also figured out that the old college girl string bikini is out of the question now, too. I put those on and feel like such a hooker now! I'm sure there are more changes to come, but for now, these are the two big ones I have noticed.

New hair cut...

New mommy-friendly swimsuit...
I wish I looked like that in it... I bet she isn't a mom, lol.

Has anyone checked out Hautelook today? They have some good stuff! Some of my favorite things, actually! Splendid clothing, Dogeared jewelry, Jessica Simpson hair extensions (fun!), etc! Go shop guys...

Our weekend

We finally got back into a routine again after being back home. Dylan missed his house, especially his bedroom! We could actually tell how relaxed and happy he was to be home. I know he is not happy that we do not have a pool in the backyard to swim in everyday. BUT, I ordered a cheap-o one from Amazon to hold him over until swimming lessons and it will be here later this week.

On Saturday, we went to Sydnie's birthday pool party and Dylan had a blast! At first, he wasn't so sure of all the people around him since he is only used to me and Daddy in the pool with him, but he finally warmed up and had a great time. As you can see, he was pooped afterwards. He fell asleep in my arms before we even got in the car!

Sunday, we took him to his cousins house to swim in their cow tank, lol. Mark has an extra one that we can use in our backyard, too. I was hesitant at first, but when Dylan got in, he was able to actually touch the bottom with his feet while in his floaty and walk around! He loved it! He didn't have to be beside anyone or have anyone hold on to him and he was just having a good time! I might actually give-in and let Mark bring the redneck old school cow tank pool to our backyard, too. Hey, it's durable.

Mark and Kati went and jumped on the trampoline with Dylan after swimming and look what this kid did...
He fell asleep while they were jumping! He just layed there and went to sleep. I guess he liked the up and down motion they were creating - hmmm, seems like he used to like that when Mommy did squats by running water with him, too - up and down, up and down...

He has finally decided to eat some graham crackers for me! He HATE those little puff (what kid hates puffs?!) and when he touches them, he gets this look on his face like he is touching some type of goo and throws it down. Oh yeah, I gave him his first popsicle and he loved it, too! :)

Other than that, we pretty much did this...

Horrible blogger

That's me. I have been so busy lately, I haven't blogged in weeks! I'm just going to blame Bridezilla, a.k.a. my BFF, because I have been blaming everything else on her anyway. Pretty sure she's cool with that, too. That's why she's my BFF. These past weeks have been filled with a Bachelorette party, lots of shopping, wedding after wedding, more shopping, Father's Day, more shopping, no sleeping, swimming, Monkey turning 8 months, and so on.

After my parent came a few weeks ago to help watch Dylan while Mark and I were attending several wedding festivities, they went ahead and took me back to Dallas with them since I needed to be there to start the wedding festivities with BFF. Mark came about a week and a half later to attend the wedding with me and spend Father's Day with us, then he drove us back home with him. It makes me exhausted just writing about it. Traveling with a baby is not fun. Especially when that baby hates his car seat so much. He has been throwing the biggest fits when I try to put him in his bucket. Of course, Bad Mom of the Year gave into him on the ride home and held him while he slept the entire 5 and a half hour drive. Otherwise, he screams and starts choking himself if I put him in his bucket. Dramatic, I know. I'm sure he gets that from his father (hehe).

Speaking of his father, this was Mark's 1st official Father's Day. We have always celebrated Father's Day and Mother's Day since we began dating with gifts from the cat and dog to each other. Here is Monkey and Daddy together on Father's Day this year...

I have to include this next picture because I need everyone to see what I have to work with when taking photos and feel sorry for me. This is so typical, but so funny...cracks me up...

Part of Mark's Father's Day gift was a gift card to go play Top Golf. It was lots of fun. Hot and humid, but fun. Apparently, I am pretty good, too! We were all shocked with my skills and now I think I need some fancy golf clubs, of course! :)

Anyway, I'm baaack! I'll blog some more soon, but I have a feeling little Monkey is about to wake up...

8 months

Monkey is 8 months old today! He is turning into such a big boy! He loves to wave to people when he first sees them and when they are going bye-bye. He has been working on crawling every day. He is getting very close to being on the move, but it isn't happening as fast as he wants it to! Wet wet kisses are very frequent around here now, too. He grabs my hair and face to pull it towards him to give kisses and even says "mmmm" as he does it. Super cute! Those two middle teeth finally popped through and it has helped a lot with all the slobber and pain. He loves to drink water from his big boy sippy cup. Naps are still a struggle because he is afraid that he is going to miss something.

I love you Dylan! You are growing up so fast and turning more into your Daddy everyday! Happy 8 month birthday, baby!
