So behind...

I feel so behind on everything lately! However, I am still managing to get stuff done. We've had a lot going on! Mark turned the big 3-0. My parents came to help celebrate with us. I made Mark a giant rice crispy cake because he always says he doesn't want a cake! He loved it!

Dylan and I made the trip back to Dallas with my mom & dad to go see my sister and brother-in-law since they were in town.

While we were gone, Mark had a list of several things to do. Some of them got done. Remember a long time ago when I said I got a kitchen table for 8 bucks? Well, I did. It was at a garage sale in Lubbock ghetto. Seriously, it was the ghetto; chain link fences, random animals wandering the streets, people sitting in lawn chairs on their porch,, get my point? It needed to be painted and fixed up a little bit and Mark finally got around to painting it. I was going to have him paint it white, but since I found some similar chairs to our bar stools at Ikea, I was afraid the whites wouldn't match, so he painted it silver sage - our go-to color for everything. I wish I would have taken a before picture, but oh well, here is the AFTER picture! Looks good!
I did get four chairs, but Mark only felt like putting two of them together so far... story of my life...

I was doing so good with the photo-a-day challenge for March, but that just flew out the window. I don't know if I should even bother to catch up on it now. We'll see.

My Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza invitations went out. Still waiting on RSVP's. I've been using my new Silhouette machine to get things ready for it and so excited! I would take a picture of the stuff I've made, but that would just spoil the surprise!

March: Photo A Day

I have been doing the "March Photo A Day" and I don't really use Instagram on my phone very much, so I thought that I would blog my photos...

Day 1 - Monkey's temperature was 'UP' again...

Day 2 - Instead of taking a picture of actual fruit, I thought you might enjoy my favorite soap and lotion set that I keep in the kitchen. I got it because I wanted one with a good lotion to use right away after washing my hands/bottles/cups. I love the grapefruit scent and it is the bomb!

Day 3 - It has been gorgeous outside the past few days! We took a walk in our neighborhood ...
Day 4 - This was on the floor on my side of the bed. I wonder who Elmo is hiding from?

Day 5 - This little stinker smiles so big when we play "Where's Dylan?" He gets a real kick out of me acting so surprised when he jumps out at me! Super cute lil' smile...
Day 6 - Around 5 o'clock everyday, I remind Dylan that Daddy will be home soon. Sometimes he looks out the window looking for his truck to pull up, like today, but we had to play for a couple more hours until he actually got home...

Help!

Ok, I am normally really good at searching the Internet to find something I have seen and want, but I am not having any luck with this! Dylan doesn't have his own piggy bank yet and I have been trying to get him one for a while now. No, of course I don't want just ANY piggy bank for my child, ha! There are two giant piggy banks that I LOVE made by Mud Pie and the have discontinued them. I have been searching high and low for these and now, I am asking for you to help me find one of them, please! I would like the whale or the elephant bank. Here they are...

P.S. - I am blogging from my phone, so I don't know how this will turn out

Dylan update

So, in my last post, I mentioned that I thought Dylan was getting over his sickness and ear infection. I think he was, but then Tuesday morning, he woke up with a cough. I immediately thought it would turn into croup again with him and started trying to fight it during the day with him drinking a lot, taking sinus medicine, and giving him lots of oranges. He had no appetite and kept wanting to sleep! If anyone knows my child, this is a red flag that something is wrong! He never, and I mean never, wants to sleep. Later that evening, I decided to take  his temperature after he felt very warm to me. His temperature was 102.4. I gave him some Tylenol to try and bring it down and we loaded the car and took him to the clinic.

By the time the doctor saw him, his temp had reached 103.5. He got very upset with the doctor trying to look in his ears and mouth and started to throw up and then his rash came back all over his face. The doctor told us that we "shouldn't be worried" and that it's probably "just a fever". That made me upset and so when we left, I called his doctor's on-call nurse. She said that he probably picked up a secondary virus on top of his ear infection. To keep the Tylenol going every 4 hours and try to keep him hydrated. I did that. He loves his Pedialyte popcicles and I got him to eat two of those and some crackers. I fought his temperature all night and it wouldn't get below 100. This is also how my bed looked during the night, you can tell I got a lot of sleep, right?!

The next morning, he acted a little bit more like himself. He didn't feel like sleeping the entire day this time. I also was able to keep his temp at 99. Here he is taking a nap... this is normally how his naps go. He would rather play, laugh, chat, hit, scream, than take a nap...
You can see the rash that is now back on his cheeks. You can't feel the bumps, so hopefully, they will disappear soon. He got his appetite back more yesterday and even ate a kid's meal from Chick-Fil-A. All of his nuggets and fries were gone. Around bed time, when I checked his temp, it was only 98.7! He gave me a high-five for that! :)

He slept sooo good next to us last night and didn't wake up at all! I checked his temp this morning and it was still 98.7, so that's good...

Here he is today...

Up to trouble and playing again! His rash is still on his face, but I think we might be on the road to recovery *fingers crossed*

P.S. - this is all after Mommy meltdowns and I definitely cried on the phone to the nurse, like a drama queen, and to my own mom. I hate seeing my baby sick!
